Indizi is a series of abstract geometric compositions in which fragments of realism and color palettes act as

residual traces, subtly revealing the origin of the works: renowned paintings from the classical tradition, primarily

from the Italian Renaissance.

The creative process begins with the layering and blending of different visual elements: reproductions of the

original artworks are combined with digital painterly interventions, executed alla prima, without preparatory

drawings or underlying structures. The aim is to reach a new formal balance between color and shape—a factual,

visual truth that is more abstract yet equally concrete.

As the series evolves, particularly in the portraits, the original images become more recognizable, engaging in

increasingly complex dialogues with the digital layers. Once printed, some of these small works are further enriched

with hand-painted acrylic interventions, completing the transition from the digital to the material.

Indizi is an investigation into visual memory, the essence of the image, and the possibility of rewriting the classical

canon through a contemporary lens.
